ADVERTISING OPPORTUNITY AT PICKLEBALL COURTS IN LEWISTON
Pickleball, the fastest growing sport in the country, has a new, permanent home in Lewiston. The underused, aging tennis courts in Sunset Park were converted in June 2015 to six new pickleball courts to accommodate the burgeoning local pickleballers, LC Valley Pickleball Club Inc. The Parks and Recreation Commission funded this court conversion with a sizable contribution from the LC Valley Pickleball Club.
The sport is taught in local schools and embraced by many senior citizens as a less strenuous alternative to tennis. It’s anticipated many more residents of all ages will come to the sport through future clinics provided by the Lewiston Parks and Recreation Department and the club. In the future, we envision league play and additional tournaments. LC Valley Pickleball Club members coordinated the annual Edward Jones Investments-Larry Kopczynski “Sunset Classic” tournament held in May 2019 and registration was full with over 150 participants within hours! As COVID restrictions fade we hope to reinstate this tournament.
The courts draw players from many northwest communities as well as the valley, for play and tournaments. The ripple effect; of course, brings restaurants, motels and many other businesses added revenues. The courts are also listed under “places to play” on the national pickleball association website as well as our own. Our local paid membership has increased from 23 players in 2014 to a 100 plus players each year. We’ve seen good growth each year and expect this trend to continue. We are currently engaged with Parks and Recreation in a joint project to renovate the existing courts and add three new courts.
This is an opportunity to showcase your business. The Parks and Recreation Department has authorized LC Valley Pickleball Club Inc., a 501C3 non-profit organization, to sell signage for the courts. Several businesses are already highlighted. The sizes and costs are:

Maxmetal is the product for the sign’s backing. It is a lightweight, durable aluminum composite that is powder coated on both sides. Your advertising will be placed on a high quality vinyl that is adhered to the sign. The signs are very weather resistant. All sign production is done by FASTSIGNS, a local business.
